Lukas 3:12
3:12 Tax collectors
1 also came to be baptized, and they said to him, “Teacher, what should we do?”
Lukas 5:27-32
The Call of Levi; Eating with Sinners
5:27 After 2 this, Jesus 3 went out and saw a tax collector 4 named Levi 5 sitting at the tax booth. 6 “Follow me,” 7 he said to him.
5:28 And he got up and followed him, leaving everything 8 behind. 9
5:29 Then 10 Levi gave a great banquet 11 in his house for Jesus, 12 and there was a large crowd of tax collectors and others sitting 13 at the table with them.
5:30 But 14 the Pharisees 15 and their experts in the law 16 complained 17 to his disciples, saying, “Why do you eat and drink with tax collectors and sinners?” 18
5:31 Jesus 19 answered them, “Those who are well don’t need a physician, but those who are sick do. 20
5:32 I have not come 21 to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.” 22
Lukas 7:37-50
7:37 Then
23 when a woman of that town, who was a sinner, learned that Jesus
24 was dining
25 at the Pharisee’s house, she brought an alabaster jar
26 of perfumed oil.
27
7:38 As
28 she stood
29 behind him at his feet, weeping, she began to wet his feet with her tears. She
30 wiped them with her hair,
31 kissed
32 them,
33 and anointed
34 them with the perfumed oil.
7:39 Now when the Pharisee who had invited him saw this,
35 he said to himself, “If this man were a prophet,
36 he would know who and what kind of woman
37 this is who is touching him, that she is a sinner.”
7:40 So
38 Jesus answered him,
39 “Simon, I have something to say to you.” He replied,
40 “Say it, Teacher.”
7:41 “A certain creditor
41 had two debtors; one owed him
42 five hundred silver coins,
43 and the other fifty.
7:42 When they could not pay, he canceled
44 the debts of both. Now which of them will love him more?”
7:43 Simon answered,
45 “I suppose the one who had the bigger debt canceled.”
46 Jesus
47 said to him, “You have judged rightly.”
7:44 Then,
48 turning toward the woman, he said to Simon, “Do you see this woman? I entered your house. You gave me no water for my feet,
49 but she has wet my feet with her tears and wiped them with her hair.
7:45 You gave me no kiss of greeting,
50 but from the time I entered she has not stopped kissing my feet.
7:46 You did not anoint my head with oil, but she has anointed my feet
51 with perfumed oil.
7:47 Therefore I tell you, her sins, which were many, are forgiven, thus she loved much;
52 but the one who is forgiven little loves little.”
7:48 Then
53 Jesus
54 said to her, “Your sins are forgiven.”
55
7:49 But
56 those who were at the table
57 with him began to say among themselves, “Who is this, who even forgives sins?”
7:50 He
58 said to the woman, “Your faith
59 has saved you;
60 go in peace.”
Lukas 19:2-10
19:2 Now
61 a man named Zacchaeus was there; he was a chief tax collector
62 and was rich.
19:3 He
63 was trying to get a look at Jesus,
64 but being a short man he could not see over the crowd.
65
19:4 So
66 he ran on ahead and climbed up into a sycamore tree
67 to see him, because Jesus
68 was going to pass that way.
19:5 And when Jesus came to that place, he looked up
69 and said to him, “Zacchaeus, come down quickly,
70 because I must
71 stay at your house today.”
72
19:6 So he came down quickly
73 and welcomed Jesus
74 joyfully.
75
19:7 And when the people
76 saw it, they all complained,
77 “He has gone in to be the guest of a man who is a sinner.”
78
19:8 But Zacchaeus stopped and said to the Lord, “Look, Lord, half of my possessions I now give
79 to the poor, and if
80 I have cheated anyone of anything, I am paying back four times as much!”
19:9 Then
81 Jesus said to him, “Today salvation
82 has come to this household,
83 because he too is a son of Abraham!
84
19:10 For the Son of Man came
85 to seek and to save the lost.”
Lukas 23:43
23:43 And Jesus
86 said to him, “I tell you the truth,
87 today
88 you will be with me in paradise.”
